DISASTER MANAGEMENT

In keeping with the NLM commitment in times of crisis and natural disasters, NLM has rallied aid, support and resources every time.
  • UttarKashi Earthquake - Supplied all essential supplies of two Tata 407 truckload and gave financial assistance worth Rs 46000=00.
  • Orissa Cyclone - Dispatched 26 full size truckloads of essential supplies.
  • Kargil War - Rs 46 lakh handed over to the then Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
  • Bhuj Earthquake - Set up a 10 bed mobile fully equipped Hospital on February 15, 2001 costying app. Rs 14.76 lacs.
  • Tsunami - Relief activity for Tsunami affected with a full truckload of material and goods worth Rs.10 lakh and Rs.six lakh seventy thousand in the form of a Demand Draft on the State Bank of India for the purchase of utensils, sewing machines, sweaters and other items of daily need. 80000 kilograms of rice costing Rs.8 lakhs, pulses, 1000 saris, 1000 bed sheets, 1000 sheets and 1000 'loongis' on behalf on NLM.

  • Road accidents and victims of dacoity/loot.

    Bihar Floods -
  • As in the past disasters, Noida Lok Manch has been in the forefront to coordinate with all Social organizations and Noidaites , so that help could be provided to the Bihar victims.
  • To help the Bihar Flood Victims, Joint Noida Forum with Noida Lok Manch despatched 2 trucks on 19th September, 08 from Noida Public Library, Sector 15, Noida.
  • The trucks contained 18275 new sarees, 800 blankets, 13950 kilo rice, 5000 chlorine tablets, aruvedic medicines, clothes for children and many more items.
  • Noida Lok Manch President Mr Prabhat Kumar speaking on the occassion congratulated Noidaites for the efforts and declared that the second lot of items will be sent in October, 08.
  • It has also been decided that 100 children of the most affected village of Bihar will be given scholarship of Rs 2500=00 per year for their education.
  • To oversee distribution of the items sent on 19th September,08, a team of 4 people comprising of M/S Mahesh Saksena, GS Noida Lok Manch, R N Srivastava , Ashok Singh, Avneendra Thakur left for Bihar, on 23rd September,08.
  • We feel pleasure in informing you that another truck load of goods like new Pants, Shirts, Shawls and Woolens( both for Ladies and Gents ), Blankets, Salwar Suits, Sarees and other items for Ladies, Children clothes, Bedsheets, Khes and food items like Atta, Rice, Salt, Chana, Biscuits, Namkeen etc. for Bihar was sent on 1 st November, 08. All the items are worth Rs 8 lacs.
  • All the supplies are being sent to Kusha Village Ward,Triveniganj, in Distt. Supaul, Bihar . The population of the ward is app. 1000.
  • Besides, Educational and Vocational training of 100 children of this ward will be undertaken by Noida Lok Manch and also monitored by us on regular basis. The purpose is that either the children get free education or learn skills through vocational training so that they become self - reliant,
  • Shri Nagendra Pratap Singh, DCEO, Noida Authority and other dignitaries of Noida were present for the flag off.
